Na tento díl jsem se moc těšila, už jen proto, že Colina a Penelope jsem si oblíbila i jako vedlejší postavy. Tak co by mohlo být lepší, než díl, který je celý skoro jen o nich. A bohužel tento díl, mě oproti předchozím, docela zklamal. Colin mi chvílemi neskutečně lezl na nervy a Penelope... no ani ona neměla vždy své nejlepší chvíle. Alespoň, že se mi v tomto dílu dostalo odhalení Lady Whistledownové. I tak mi ale tato kniha přišla spíše průměrná. Uvidíme, kam bude směřovat zbytek série.

I was so excited about this book but Colin was annoying and, honestly, Penelope deserves someone who won't be jealous of her achievements. Idk. Not a fan of a hero who reminds me of men I'm related to :/

The story was quite cute! I really like how they showed the strength of the Bridgerton family bond. It made me excited to watch the TV show.
Just did a re-read in honor of the first four episodes dropping.
Still holds 4⭐️ strong. Show storyline gets a 3.75⭐️. I understand the specific changes needed to be made for drama-sake - however, there is nothing like a decent romance novel. And this is that. Polin is still not my favorite (not my least favorite, either) Bridgerton couple, however the book is doing them better thus far. I much prefer the unraveling of Lady Whistledown in this book compared to how it is being done thus far in the show. I am still hopeful for a unified Polin reveal!

The best Bridgerton book yet. Finally, a male protagonist who doesn’t rant and rave about his conquering of an innocent virgin. However, what Colin lacks in raging primalism, he makes up for in ignorance of Penelope’s lack of consent. It’s not cute to keep kissing someone when they tell you to stop. I was initially excited not to read the words “rake” or “niggling” once in this book, but “overmuch” appeared randomly four times or so. Still far from a good book, but at least the author has managed to show a little variety in her characters.
This is the book I have been looking forward to the most and I was absolutely not disappointed. It was definitely worth the wait!
