I have to give this a 5. It was captivating to say the least, but I also felt it to be an honest assessment of Ted Bundy. The author had an inside track to tell this story because she actually knew Ted, before and during the whole ordeal. I felt like I got to know Ted through her eyes (which is close enough thank you!).
What a crazy man, playing games right up until the end. Just lying and lying so that maybe he could be set free to continue killing. Ugh. The book in fact kept me guessing about whether he really was the right person right up until the end when he confessed to his crimes. He was smart, but I am glad the system caught him in the end because he truly caused horror to humanity.

The quintessential book on Ted Bundy. Being from Tacoma and growing up with the lore of Ted Bundy, I thought I knew most of his story but I only knew a few bullet points. This book was eye opening and gave me a sense of what it was truly like for people during his active years. The Kindle version is great because Ann has made additional entries and updates over the years as new events have happened or she’s learned more information. Bottom line, Ted Bundy was a monster and the constant glorification is disgusting, he got what he deserved. Ann Rule was honest about her feelings and I think this book was therapeutic for her as she came to grips with learning and truly accepting her friend was a mad man with no soul.
