I don't have a lot to say about this one, besides that I thought it was one of the best mathematics textbooks I have ever read. The author treats you like you maybe aren't awesome at math, and maybe don't remember that thing you learned back in high school, but then proceeds to tell you it's okay and hey go read this (or explains it) if you don't remember. I adore math, I don't adore taking classes in math as much because they take the fun out of learning, but this book made a horrible class (due to the professor and textbook choice) bearable and understandable. I got the review guide and solutions manual to go with it and they were both excellent, study tips and hints about problem spots. There was no "and the good student will be able to do the following example on their own so we will leave it to them" bull in this book like there was in the textbook assigned. Some places could use a little work, but overall I the book was wonderfully conducive to trying to learn on your own.
