Probably a 2.5 but upgrading because I agree with her views on library funding and the welfare state in general. Her essays about growing up in poverty were also quite touching. Plus, Moran is a very very funny woman, though some of the essays sometimes border on the silly side. Good thing I listened to this on audio so I was only half-listening when she writes about fish or the royal wedding or British politics (of which I know nothing about). Still a very enjoyable read if you get her brand of humor.
Not as amazing as How to Be a Woman, but good for a chuckle or two.
There is something I realised after finishing Moranthology, apart from the fact that Caitlin Moran just might be my new imaginary best friend. We all have one, that semi famous person that you know in your heart of hearts you would be become total BFF's if you ever met. No the thing that I realised was that how much BBC I watch throughout my day. A kiwi girl who lives in Melbourne, and has spent a total sum of 2 and 1/2 weeks in the British Isles during her 31+ life time, had watched everything single television show Caitlin talked about in her collection. Ok I am not a devote of 'Eastenders' but I got the big earring reference, nor do I love Doctor Who, but I know who David Tennett is and understand the cuteness. Though I did give myself indigestion while watching the second series of Sherlock, I inhaled that show so quickly, there was no chewing. This collection shows how much of an Anglophile I am. I am somewhat surprised I am not living in North London? If something has BBC, Rolling, Monty, Tudor, Benedict Cumberbatch or Castle some where in the sentence I am usually greedily stuffing it in my pocket for later.
Though also what I liked about this Moranthology is the pure energy is writes with. Her pen is like a little nuclear core, I read this fast, because it felt like she was writing fast, throwing everything in her head down on paper, or more likely onto the key board. Caitlin Moran on the page feels, generally funny, generally interested, and generally big haired, and I would need a red bull cocktail to keep up, as you know we are BFF's now.

funny
Caitlin Moran is my spirit animal. I love this woman. And this collection of her previously published columns was a fantastic read. There was much giggling to be had while I was sitting on public transit reading this, and yes, Ghostbusters is one of the best movies of all time.
Jak být ženou mi přišlo malinko lepší, ale i tak je to pořád neskutečně vtipné, čtivé a zábavné. :)
I think I enjoyed this book even better than her last. With a variety of topics, this book is hilarious and insightful, but mostly hilarious. Interviews with famous musicians, reviews of Downton Abbey and Sherlock and stories about her marriage and childhood and everything in between. If you like Caitlin Moran, you will LOVE this book. If you don't know who Caitlin Moran is, but you like Tina Fey or Jen Lancaster or The Bloggess - you will LOVE this book.
I have to say, I preferred HTBAW. This was funny and smart but felt like an anthology rather than a book in itself. I only laughed out loud a couple of times ( but boy did I giggle at the Downton section!!!), and I was moved by some articles too. Good but not my favourite. Still, us Wolverhampton girls will stick together and I do like Moran's writing.
