kinda wanted to experience this story without rereading that very long book, and since there’s no acceptable movie version, i decided to try this. it was okay, very faithful to the original, except that everyone was drawn kind of grotesque instead of pretty, not intentionally most of the time?? i know how hard drawing is but yeah. the final couple of chapters were better in quality. not bad overall, but could have been so much better.

My favorite thing about this honestly very well done graphic novel is how badly the artist clearly wanted a young Rutger Hauer to play Lestat. How disappointed was this guy with "Interview With a Vampire?"

This is the first time I've read this since high school and I was worried it wouldn't hold up to my nostalgic expectations. Luckily, Rice's writing is till engaging and most of all her lore is fascinating. I want history books written by her.

Now, I'm no longer 17 so Lestat's extra-ness had me eye-rolling and Armand's creepy abusiveness is more than a little disturbing, but Gabrielle was as great as ever and Marius's story is still one of my favorites.
