Thoroughly enjoyed this! Was super eery to see inside Joe's mind more than the Netflix adaptation had shown.
Was a bit disappointed that the ending was a tad rushed... But overall really good book!

If ranked only for whether this is a captivating read, it probably deserves five stars. It was very well drawn and Joe's voice is believable if also unbelievable if also all too believable if any of that makes sense. By the end, of course, it's pretty predictable, but still compulsively listenable because there are moments at which I simply barked with laughter. And the moments are relatively frequent for something so... so... grim? Creepy? Crank up your darkest sense of humor and read on.

Beck is the stereotypical nyc transplant and it made her all the more annoying.

I hate that I love Joe Goldberg but you have to love your imperfections in order to grow.

Wish I read this before seeing the tv series but still enjoyed the book and would read the second one!

On a scale on one to ten, what is your creep out factor? One is everything creeps you out massively-- cockroaches, stalkers, more than three flavors of ice cream in the same cup. Ten is you cool, no big deal. I would have said I was closer to 10, but having endured You, I'm not so sure.
You is the story of a stalker, "Joe" who runs a rare and used bookstore and has problems where he falls too hard and too fast. And instead of being an honest, stable person, he is a crazy stalker. You is also the story of the stalked, "Beck," who is by all accounts, both dishonest and stupid, making it difficult to choose who to root for. And just the fact that you might want to root for one of them is telling. This is a novel in the postmodern tradition, right down to the passages that read "LOLOLOLOLOL."
Very, very creepy, but also deeply engaging, You is a cautionary tale more than anything. Stay off Twitter and, if you lose your phone, for God's sake cut it off, change your number, and change all your passwords. Please and thank you.

The POV makes this book, it’s sick and scary but I couldn’t stop.
