someone one said this is their FAVORITE horror book. i feel like thats a little bit buckwild. was it entertaining? yeah. was it "horror"? i mean... in some ways. was it weird sexual for a book about a haunted house? absofruitly.

the real story is about the balance between skepticism and mysticism. the setting is somewhat used for that, but barely. it could have easily been a possession story or an apocalyptic story which made me feel like the premise was somewhat wasted. theres not much else to say without spoilers, but i will say that my response to the twist was to not care about this whiny main character.
