Humorous and light-hearted with tinges of dark fears that gives you goose-bumps. Krause does a great job illustrating these diverse fears to create a homogenous collection in a beautiful book.
2,5 stars but rounded up since it was closer to a 3 than a 2
A series of beautiful comics on the things we all secretly fear. Perfect for ensuring yourself you aren't the only one who is crazy.
fast-paced
“Sometimes I worry I’m delusional and my dog is actually a pile of laundry in the psych ward.”
Deep Dark Fears by Fran Krause is a collection of 101 fears sent to the author who has drawn them as comics. He explores some of the most gruesome to some of the most hilarious and bizarre fears.
I’m pretty sure I first seen this book mentioned by @bookhangoverz a while back. When I began reading through these comics I was both laughing and cringing. So many are relatable and I admit I’ve had those fears too. There are a fair few which are gross and most definitely bizarre.
It’s interesting to think about how our minds work and the things we become fearful of. This collection will have you laughing and even saying “what the hell?” at many of the ones mentioned. The illustrations alone are hilarious and a must-see.
