Loved it! I can relate so much to these (irrational) fears!

Quick read of comics based on all kinds of fears. Find your own! Gain a new one! We all have moments, especially when we are alone, when we think, "What if THIS would happen right now?" Simple, expressive art with great color. Nice little book but it's over in a snap.

This was a really quick read (finished in 30 minutes) because Deep Dark Fears is a comic. Reading about the fears that people have was very enjoyable and made me think about some of the fears that I have. I would recommend for anyone who enjoys comics and creepy reads.

I really like this. I just wish it was longer or more creepy. I found some creepier ones on Instagram that should've been included. I still love it though.

Deep Dark Fears is a beautifully illustrated comic, with creepy twists and turnings and I must admit I found myself while reading some of them.

An interesting read that gave me a few new things to be afraid of.

Fran Krause originally published a webcomic.
This is a cool book, explaining some really crazy fears, as well as some that made me reconsider whether or not I SHOULD be afraid. It was a cool read, and I'm happy the book club settled on this so I could take some time and discover this talented creator.

I've followed the author's blog for awhile now, so I was thrilled to see a published version. Fear is something we can all relate to, even irrational fear. If you love comics about personal fears, this is the book for you. If you like seeing what other people are afraid of, this is the book for you.

This little gem grabbed me on Fear #2 because I fully identified with that feeling.
The art style is both charming and a little dark which portrays well the sense of niggling fears that are presented in this book.
Many of them made me laugh out loud and only a few of them were actually real, rational fears (falling through ice and getting pulled away from the hole is real guys!)
I also think a third of them could be republished with the title "Horrible Things To Never Tell Your Children". The things you say to kids can scar them for life!

Definitely recommend for a quick read, it can help put some of your own fears in perspective.

Deep Dark Fears is a collection of comic strips that depict people's most irrational fears. The author/illustrator asked people to submit their strangest fears and included them in this book. As someone with quite a few irrational fears, I found myself laughing at some of Krase's illustrations, not because they were funny, but because I could relate to them. I showed some of my favorites to my boyfriend and he didn't really "get" them so maybe this book will only make sense to a select group of anxiety-ridden people. I really wish the comics had been organized better because it did feel disjointed and not like I was reading an actual book, hence why I only gave this title three out of five stars.
