Deep Dark Fears by Fran Krause is a selection/collection of illustrated observations, of sorts, to do with human fears. These relate to various things. Death, illness, childhood concerns, family, ghosts, accidents, loneliness, and more. It's a very quick read, and one of those fun books you can pick up once in a while and have a laugh with. It has some very funny pages, but there is also moments of repetition here too, some of the tales of fears are repeated and begin to feel a little tedious, but I did enjoy this and thought it was a cute coffee table style humour book that would be good for a gift for someone you know in your life who worries about things a lot. The illustrations are nice, and often the funniest part of the stories. It's fun, but not much more than that.

There are so many times I found myself relating to one of the fears in the comics, which just makes one feel more connected to the world. Especially when there are other people out there worried about their limbs hanging off of the bed or the person who tries to look quirky and fun so the murders watching outside her window will change their minds about killing them.
Hilarious and spot on for quite a few. I'm happy to know that there are folxs in the world who have bizarre fears or just rando thoughts of doom such as myself. These are perfectly illustrated and sure to win your heart!
This had just the right balance of silly and actually unnerving for me.
After seeing a few illustrations online, I just knew I had to read this book. It hilariously, yet scarily accurately depicts many of the silly fears we have. I took a star only because it's so short and I wish it went on longer.
OMG I love these comics! I got approved for a NetGalley ARC of the book and y'all it is awesome. I love his art and how it totally heightens the meaning of the fears as opposed to just being written out. I scrolled through the entire blog a while back so I was surprised that there were so many new comics, i'd venture to say I hadn't seen about 75% of them before. Definitely pick it up if you're into funny/terrifying/could that actually happen? comics.
I loved this! The art is creepy but adorable. The fears are great. They are terrifying but also made me laugh. There were also fears that are very relatable especially as someone with anxiety who has nonsense fears all the time. It was just a wonderful read and I recommend this to anyone that has had an irrational fear.
