Wow!  This book was a wild ride from start to finish.  I won't get into too many details, but the story kept me glued to the edge of my seat the entire time.  I accidentally read spoilers from another review, but I was so engrossed in how the pieces of the spoilers would fit together with the rest of the story.

I love books that involve Witness Protection! With some reflection, I think I enjoy reading about people on the lam and thinking about how I would act in those situations as well.

I usually don’t love long books, but I felt the length was totally justifiable. I loved getting both stories past and present simultaneously, and I felt connected to the storyline and the main characters. I loved guessing how the past and present would meet, and the epilogue pulled it all together. Didn’t love that the chapters were so long.

I enjoyed reading this a lottttt but there were just a few flaws. 
Didn’t LOVE Andrea, she (and Jane) made some stupid mistakes along the way that could’ve prevented some of the things that happened later but whatever it was stressful I might’ve made the same mistakes. Except probably not bc sometimes she was really dumb. I don’t really want to get into specifics bc it will spoil some things but you get it. 
It was insane reading about Nick and seeing just how manipulative he was on every single page. I liked the Jane/nick/Andrew story so much more than anything involving Andrea. 
Overall it was a page turner for sure and I would recommend it.

This is the fourth book I’ve read from Karin Slaughter and she still manages to amaze me. The writing, characters, and plot always seem to suck me in. Like I’ve done before  with her other books, I teared up at certain parts. Finding out Laura’s past was rough. 

Are Slaughter’s books kinda messed up? Yes, but I keep eating it up. And I’ll continue to do so.

Also fuck Nick and Paula.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book. Like I was wondering why that happened. But then the flashbacks happened and I was bored and didn’t care. I felt we didn’t need all that. Also it was very plot twisty which was a bummer. Also the main character was honestly annoying and stupid. This is the least graphic of her books so if you don’t like really disturbing things this might be the now to pick up from her.
