TW -
Sexual violence, non consent, rape, murder, body horror, gore

Club Dead is the third book in the Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Murder Mystery series, this series is the inspiration for the HBO show, True Blood. The first 3rd of the book had a good amount of action and it was exciting and fun, the last part of the book was frustrating and triggering.

In book three Sookie goes on a rescue mission to save Bill, she travels with with Erik, Bubba, and a new character Alcaide. There are so many little action scenes and the danger is high as always, so things were getting really exciting. The story starts to go downhill for me at exactly 73% of the way through the book.

TW - Sexual violence, rape
After Sookie rescues Bill, she comes to the conclusion that he has been starved for 5 days (and tortured for longer) and she ends up getting locked in a car trunk with him. She can't get out and she thinks she's going to suffocate, at this point Bill is asleep because it's in the late afternoon and vamps sleep during the day. Once nightfall breaks, he wakes up and starts to FEAST on Sookie, even though she pleads with him not to. She even tells him there's some True Blood (synthetic human blood for vampires to dine on) in the trunk with them but he continues to drink from and drain her instead. Once he's had his fill, Bill literally rapes Sookie (and yes, the scene is on page.) The situation was handled so poorly and then it's not mentioned again. This left me trigger and angry with Mrs. Harris.

I also think at one point that TW - sexual non consent
While Sookie was drinking from Erik's arm (because she had been seriously injured) and while she was doing that, I'm very sure he was masturbating and that he came on her back without her consent. Sookie just kept saying that Erik was moaning and then she felt some wet stuff on her back. So either he was salivating or he came on her back w/o consent. I just don't understand what's up with this author and non consent.

There was no spice because all of the sexual scenes were sexually violent, non consensual, and/or dubious consent so I'm giving this -1 (NEGATIVE ONE) chilies out out 5 chilies -🌶️ worth of spice.

I'm giving this two stars because it started off so well and then it ended with partner sexual violence and that made me angry.
⭐️⭐️ 2/5 Stars
