kclark's review against another edition
3.0
As with Crossing California, I am not necessarily sure of my review of this book purely because I read it so long ago. I remember that I loved Crossing California, so when I saw this book at my local library I was eager to pick it up. This book has a broader set of characters and covers a more expansive time period than its predecessor, and I did genuinely like it. However, I also recall that I was slightly less enraptured with this narrative than I was with Crossing California.
