4/5
A good mystery and, I think, a good introduction to the character of Miss Marple (although there are a few references to characters from previous stories).
Can you go wrong with an Agatha Christie novel?

I was feeling poorly and re-read this and it was just perfect. So taut with a great set up, all the characters were distinctive and the dialogue was pacy and witty. Love Miss Marple and Mrs McGillicuddy. Love Lucy Eylesbarrow and all the suspicious menfolk about the place who all want to marry her. Only marred by moments where the characters rolled their eyes at 'foreigners' although the DI speaking French was a nice touch. I had read it B4 but I conveniently forgot whodunnit so that was a nice surprise too. This book really perked up a glum January day.
