Mrs. McGillicuddy saw a murder from her train window but there is no other evidence or a body and no one believes her. She turns to her friend Miss Jane Marple to help her.

I love Miss Marple and how she is always a step ahead of everyone else in figuring out the crime. There are lots of red herrings and plot twists. Fun read.

This was the most boring Agatha Christie I've ever read. Virtually nothing happens for the entire first half of the book, the same information is repeated over and over, events and conversations that could've been summarized in a few lines are gone over in extreme detail--only to illustrate the exact same information we've already received twice.

This book was kind of boring to me. It was still fun and I enjoyed the unmasking of the murderer, but I found myself losing focus as I was listening to the audiobook. At times it was hard to remember which character was which. I had no idea who the murderer was, but I never try hard to figure out who it is with these types of books.

That was really good! I remember watching the tv episode on tv, but it didn't ruin the enjoyment at all as it works out fairly different with the details if I remember right. Really intense! At the end I was suspecting everyone even though I knew who had done it. Only thing I didnt much like is the idea of the brilliant Lucy Eyelesbarrow having a maths degree and still deciding to go into domestic service. This was my first miss marple, and I cant definitely see myself reading some more from the series.

I love Miss Marple! Her friend witnesses a woman being strangled on a train and Miss Marple's nurse/maid goes under cover to solve the mystery and finds the corpse. But who's the dead woman and more importantly who's the killer?
Another great read!

Spoiler This book has a complicated plot. The corpse might be the missing wife of the dead son of Mr. Crackenthorpe or a dancer or they might be the same person, but they are not. The wife is already married to someone else and is actually the mother of one of the kids in the story. The dancer is the wife of the doctor who aims to marry the only daugther of Mr. Crackenthorpe for money. Therefore, he murders his Catholic wife who refuses to divorce in order to be set free.

Wow! What a fantastic novel. I adore Agatha Christie and was looking for a novel of hers to pick up when I came across this one. I will be honest, the beginning up until about halfway was a little slow and was good for some light reading, however, once the story picked up and the pace moved along it was hard to put down! I wasn't expecting to be so captivated by this story.
Besides the story, I adored the characters, there being a slight women empowerment undertone that I quite adored, and it was surprisingly funny! All in all a great read.

Nice story but it really should have been edited to be a short story.
