Another fun Miss Marple mystery. Quite an interesting idea and if I was reading this for the first time ( I have read this several times) I think the murderer would be difficult to pinpoint. While I did appreciate this book shows the reality of old age on the body making Miss Marble come up with other ways to investigate it also meant that once again she was hardly in the book qt all. I have come to realise that one of the reasons I have always preferred Poirot is that he is usually front and centre of his books. Yet in several Marple storys she may appear for no more than a few pages.

I enjoyed the setting of this and some parts really made me chuckle and Lucy is such an interesting character.

Not enough Jane. Plot was good but everyone is getting a bit blase about murder by now…

This had a lot of fun twists and turns to it, and Agatha Christie has proved once again that she's a phenomenal writer who can make characters jump off a page. I really liked Lucy. I wish I had as much enthusiasm and efficiency at cleaning and cooking as she does.

This one just didn't capture my excitement as much, and the reveal at the end was shocking but I didn't feel as amazed by it as other mysteries. The "mystery" itself didn't start heightening and getting fast-paced until about 75% into it, and by then I was in the mood to get finished with it. I also was kind of bored with all the speculation about which brother Lucy would choose to marry. That added nothing to the plot and felt really oddly placed to me. Was Christie trying to add a romantic angle to get reads, or what?
