unfortunately i kind of hated this. i was bored most of the time and found myself skimming a lot which sucks cause i loved grimrose girls.
i didn’t like yuki very much in this book. i got the point of her role but i was tired of her making everyone’s tragedies about herself. rory was my favorite in book one so i’m disappointed that she didn’t get a good plot. i love nani, no complaints. ella was fine i just couldn’t bring myself to care about her and frederick and i didn’t like that the other girls were pushed to the side for ella and yuki to save the day.
i’m disappointed but if you liked the first one, read this one and form your own opinions.

The dragon was too much and the "once upon a time" ramblings from Ella were just annoying to read.

I liked the first 75% of the book even though nothing really happens in it but the writing got worse towards the end and the whole book fell apart.

I’m glad I finished the series I love the world I’m a sucker for boarding school stories. I think the romances were sweet and I think the lore of the curse was somewhat well done. I think there are still some things that needed clarifying (see spoilers). Also I think the comparisons to TV teen dramas are really warranted. Some of the dialogue really is giving teen melodrama. Also some of the characters motivations were unclear at times. And I think it’s inevitable with four perspectives that you will play favorites and unfortunately mine was Rory who definitely got the least amount of chapters. But it still was a fun read though!
it’s not clear to me how Yuki survived because Ella “believes.” And I think too many objects got involved to follow
