This book has a perfect blend of all the elements required in a winter romance book! I particularly loved the writing style and also the realistic way all the characters and their development as individual people is shown over the years. It's a really well rounded book!

I had very conflicted thoughts going into this book but I have to say that my love for Laurie and Sarah's friendship is what kept me. I liked the short chapters but I would have liked more information on certain topics and less on others. More on Jack and Laurie's friendship and less on Jack shagging half of Edinburgh. I would have also liked an epilogue to give me more of what we had been waiting for for 415 pages.

The characters and the story was entirely too flat, too dull, and too predictable. There was no real romance, chemistry, or anything that would make me want to root for the pair.
