Well written for the most part. Great gut punch moments but the grovel did not stick the landing at all, and the end was all cheese.

DNF. They're in love with another woman for the majority of the book, even though she cheated on them and left them and bonded with another alpha. And because their father wants them to bond with the FMC after a year of moping around and trying to locate their ex, they decide to take their resentment for the father AND the ex out on the FMC. And THEY DO NOT GROVEL for all of the shit they put her through. I had to skim the rest of the book after a while because these guys were horrible to her, and they did not deserve her or her forgiveness. Why do authors write asshole characters and then choose not to redeem them at the end? The bar is literally on the floor with these guys, and she deserved better.

I loved this Omegaverse story!!! Evie is a much stronger omega than she seems, and her new pack isn’t ready for it. There’s lot of groveling, rightly so, and ultimately, a happily ever after. It’s a little bit of a slower burn, but once the spice happens, it’s really hot.

The pain is real. This story about Evie, Damien, Asher, Cole, and Lake captured my emotions and had me in a vice grip. The agony of a rejected mate was portrayed so well. Grovelling? Yes! This story was poignant, painful, sad, and redeeming.
All Evie wanted was to be wanted, loved, and to feel safe. All the Blackwood pack wanted was the omega who had rejected them for another alpha. Evie's wish for the fairytale turned into a nightmare.
