Highly recommend this read. There were absolutely some uncomfortable questions, but they were all asked and answered with respect. The conversational style made the book easy to digest, and I learned quite a bit. I especially liked when Emmanuel asked the "but what about..." questions I was already thinking some of the time, but I also like that it left me with a few more questions of my own. I have more to learn. Again, I highly recommend this really approachable and informative book.

highly recommend this book to understand more about Jewish people, their history and their culture, and to understand how antisemitism is more common than people may realize.

Rounded up to three stars for making me uncomfortable. Four stars for a great explanation of the harmful reaches of antisemitism. Back to three stars for not asking or answering the big question: Okay, and why is Israel's response to displace, starve and kill Palestinians?

While Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man, focuses more on how we should and should not behave in order to be the best ally we can be, this book talks more about how Jewish people - mostly in the US - feel about their history and their current experiences. Both books are good places to start to foster better understanding and empathy.

This was a good listen, though I wish it was even more of a conversation, but lots of good factual and thoughtful information was shared.
