The story talked about the childless old couple who lived in Alaska. It was slow but in a good way because they showed us their little life.

the story is good. It talks about grieving, how they cope up with it, and their healing. However, I’m quite taken a back at Garrett’s part because I didn’t really expect that haha. Also, it’s so mysterious and I love how the questions were all answered at the last part.

Overall, it was a peaceful and quiet read for me. It made me want to also live in the woods, away from city and create my own little cabin.

The Snow Child was easy to get into and kept my attention. It was very atmospheric.

I liked the fact that the neighbors were there to help them when they needed it most. The friendship aspect was so enjoyable!

The audiobook performance was good!

As I picked this up during the Arctic portion of a reading around the world challenge, I was really glad of all the detailed descriptions of life and scenery in the Alaskan wilderness. This was definitely a slower-moving story and rather than feeling like I couldn't put it down, I found myself having to make the effort to pick it up each night. However, that doesn't detract from the story at all. It beautifully parallels the children's story it is based on while remaining at all times firmly grounded in its Alaskan setting. I could feel the cold, see the snow's beauty, know the gritty necessity of hunting and trapping, and felt both the joy and sorrow of the quiet loneliness.
