This issue was the perfect mix of the emotionally charged and the action packed.

There were so many emotional moments - when Ed confronts his father, when they find out the truth regarding their mother. Oh and Lt. Havoc. My heart just went out to him.

But it still contained all of the fighting and running around that I have come to love about this series.

Fullmetal Alchemist is the story of the Alphonse and Edward Elric. After an alchemic transmutation gone wrong, Ed and Al are on a mission to get back their original bodies. This is one of my favorite anime series and I'm really enjoying finally reading the manga.

As we saw end of last volume, Ed finally makes it home but he's not so happy to see his father there. There's a LOT for them to talk (or not talk) about. Most of the volume is focused on the group in Central and Ed. There are some appearances from the homunculi, but this volume is more of a recovery from the recent trauma kind of volume than an action packed one. The group definitely needs a break to recover. That being said, the volume ends with a lot of action, so the rest for the group isn't that long!
