Ending was action-packed and left me intrigued enough that I plan on reading the next book, but it took me over half the book to really get into it.  Some parts were pretty dark too (content warnings are the most I can do without completely spoiling it --- it was just overall a very tense and very sad read at times).  Plot twists surrounding the investigation were fun, though.

It's the first book in the trilogy and I really liked it. Even though I found out the killer before hand, still the book was great. I would highly recommend!
