I chose this audiobook because I liked how the narrator read a previous book (The Alice Network). Turns out the book was already on my TBR list, so I dove right in. The Lost Vintage uses dual story lines to tell of Kate's desire to become a top wine expert, she travels back to to Burgundy to prepare for the test and while there she assists her family with cleaning out their vineyard estate. During the cleanup old diaries and journals written during WWII are discovered leading Kate to delve into several mysteries involving family members. The author's vivid descriptions of the French countryside, the food, the wine and the espionage made me feel as if I was in the novel and of course Saskia Maarleveld's narration is superb.

There was a lot about this book I liked. A nice dual time line told through modern day and a journal that is character driven.
