Let the adventure continue! The Ka-Tet King has built is awesome, and I love how he develops them in this book. The world King has developed is a treat for the imagination. The villains along the way are all intriguing. I didn’t want to put this book down. This is a proper adventure series filled with imaginative twists and turns. I’m stoked to continue this journey!

This one was a bit of a slower read for me. The city of Lud, when the ka-tet was broken up, felt like a bit of a slog. Especially the journey with Gnasher and Jake, but maybe that was by design. The first part, when Eddie and Susannah and Roland are settling in and taking a breather was a nice change of pace, and I loved the idea of Roland and Jake having two sets of memories that have to come together. They feel like a real group now, their love and trust for each other on display. And Blaine is as terrifying as ever.
