orwell absolutely peaks as a writer in 1984, an absolutely thrilling read from front to back. the three-act structure works in the book's favor and helps unravel the plot in an enhanced way.
near the end it is already evident how the story will inevitably end, but reading it, feeling the emotions of our protagonist as
he is put through unimaginable horrors before meeting a death he's been desiring since the beginning of the book
, proved to be a crushing yet rewarding payoff.

The main character really grossed me out. A scene made me kinda disgusted and I just couldn’t get myself to read more. From what I got the message that words and language are what shape things is important, but i don’t know. It doesn’t sit right with me.

I didn’t understand the plot of the book. Obviously the tagline is “Big Brother is watching”, but I didn’t know that
sexual promiscuity was the way they fought against the government
and it was not what I expected.

It felt like the book had no idea what it wanted to do for a large middle chunk of the book. But here's some guy and a girl together to distract you from that. Question: what do I do to distract myself from this guy and girl? Skim through the book I suppose. Not like there's a fast forward button.
