Was hoping for more of the subplot from the first book but she barely moved the needle on it. Zzzzz

This is book is an adventure! The characters realize that what was important when the journey started isn't important anymore. They go through growth of what they want in life and letting go of "what they should do". Even better that it's a Sapphic romance!!

3.5 ⭐ and rounding up to 4 for GR. 2/5

I really wanted to love this book, as I have loved all the other Katee Roberts books I have read, however I found it extremely hard to get into the story. I feel like the story fell flat and the characters and their relationships lacked dimension. I also was disappointed in the level of spice which seemed lackluster in comparison to what Katee is known for. Overall the story was ok but could of been more passionate and had more emotions injected into the characters and plot.

I never liked Lizzie much as a character when first introduced in The Vampire Queen, but I thought I'd give her book a try after reading Hunt on Dark Waters.
Conclusion, I still don't really care for Lizzie. I like the universe, but a whole book of Lizzie was too much for me.

This was a perfect read for Pride Month

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

OH how delicious. This sequel in the Crimson Sails series is even better than the first. It irons out the world a bit more AND the romance & stakes feel kicked up a few notches. I'm quite excited to see how the rest of the series plays out.

I'm a sucker (lol) for orgasmic vampire bites and unabashed queer love & sex. The romance absolutely feels more organic and slower than the first book and it works. It's awesome to sea (lol) Katee Roberts settling into Threshold better than our murderous Lizzie. (:
