I really enjoyed this book as well as the first!! It’s in the POV of Lizzie and Mauve and I have a feeling the 3rd is going to combine the first book relationships with the 2nd on one big adventure!!!!! (I hope anyway!)

I think this one mu was a bit spicier overall and had a bit more character development but because we spent so time with our two main characters, I feel like we really missed out seeing the rest of this world which has a ton of potential. I did really like how the main characters were swapped over though and we transitioned to another story. I just think we left behind the more interesting story unfortunately.

And why do these people keep falling in 'love' in a few weeks? There are love at first sight, and soulmates and all that but that is not what's going on in these books. Here it's great sex and people who really like each other in the first stages of a relationship and that is not love, it's every single teenage relationship and not in a good way.

I'm half interested to see what happens in the series when the next book comes out but mostly because I think the world is really intriguing and it has so many possibilities. The fight with the council could potentially be good depending on how it's handled but I have a feeling the new book will just be sex and fighting in not so interesting ways but who knows...?

Had a solidly good time with the book in audio featuring a bitchy-ass vampire who wants nothing more than to find her missing family jewelry and get the hell out of Threshold and the empathetic, lonely selkie that causes Lizzie to have some very inconvenient feelings.

Really liked how we got Problem #1 out of the way (Maeve's missing pelt) pretty fast so that Lizzie and Maeve could work on relationship stuff for a bit while they tried to work out Problem #2 (finding the Crimson Hag so they can get Lizzie's stuff back). Loved the way Katee wrote Lizzie as a seal, so awesome.

2.5 ⭐️not what I was expecting. This was more of a romance type book with the will they/wont they, can they just have a real conversation book. The first had a lot of action aside from the romance part. This could have been way better if the rebellion was actually addressed in more than a concept.

3.5 ⭐

FINALLY a sapphic romance from Robert. Maybe not quite as fun as the first in the series, but Blood on the Tide was as exhilarating as it was sexy. Revenge-fueled vampire and selkie, "its just sex" trope, *and* pirates??? Count me in.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC!
