This was only ok. It was very short and kind of felt pointless. I think if I had read this before reading the series I would have given this less than 3 stars. But because I know that Yrene will be featured in Tower if Dawn it makes sense why this is included. I can’t wait to see what had happened to Yrene since this story so I’m much more looking forward to reading ToD.

I enjoyed the Assassin and the Pirate Lord much more than this novella. While I did like some parts, I don't think that this novella was necessary.
I liked when Celaena saved Yrene from the mercenaries and taught her self defense. I liked the quote: "The girl wore her scars the way some women wore their finest jewelry" because this is the perfect depiction of Celaena. Other than that, there wasn't much to this novella and I will be moving on.

I just know we will see Yrene Towers again in the future! Very cool to see Celeana showing kindness even back when she was in Arobynn's clutches. But I didn't like this novella as mush as The Assassin and the Pirate Lord.
