Is Celaena on her period during these 40 pages or what? Because all the dumb "woe-is-me" bullshit she manages to pull while trying to "help" Yrene Towers is really not doing it for me. Yeah, I get it: you're almost 17, your foster dad tried to teach you a lesson by beating you, and you're being punished by being forced to stay at an inn that is so unfashionable. Give me a goddamn break and get over yourself, Celaena. Sometimes, life is hard.

Yrene, on the other hand--I'd like about twelve novels about her, please. I have so many questions about her character and would love to read about her healer schooling and where she is currently in the series. Plus she seems to have a genuine personality I can dig, because honestly, to me, it seemed like Celaena only helped Yrene to make herself feel better--which is not a sign of a sincere person.

Soooo when the 7-book Throne of Glass series is done, how about an 8-book series about Yrene Towers, yeah?

I very much enjoyed this novella. There wasn’t a dull moment and I really liked both Yrene and Celaena here.
You’d think this novella would be too short to have a very substantial plot and I suppose that’d be technically true, since the entire story does take place in just one night, but I feel like Yrene went through as much character development as most characters do in books of 300 pages. Her character development didn’t feel forced though and everything was entirely understandable. The best thing about it is that while this new character, Yrene, goes through huge character development, we can see our main protagonist, Celaena, go through something similar. Their developments complimented each other, and it all just makes perfect sense.
I just feel like all of this fit together so nicely; nothing felt unnecessary, everything felt right. It’s just a good story with a good message. I liked it.

Eine schöne Geschichte mit einem schönen Ende und einem tollen Setting. Allerdings fand ich es minimal unnötig, dass es in wirklich jedem Buch immer mindestens einen Typen geben muss, der was von Celaena will. Das nervt!
