While I did enjoy this novella, I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I did the first one. This novella really showed us another piece of who Celaena is and why she does what she does. It really showed her willingness to stand up for the weak and how much she really cared about people. I really liked Yrene's character and how we learned of her family and who she is. It was really refreshing to see someone from the complete other side of the tracks. Yrene wanted to be a healer. She wanted to help people. And Celaena is like her in that respect. In her own twisted way, she is trying to help people. Like I said, I really enjoyed this novella. The plot was interesting, I loved the writing as always, and ll of the characters were interesting and complex and I really appreciated that. Super excited to start reading the next novella!

OMG. I love how The Assassin and the Healer gives you a glimpse of another side of Calaena. I also love getting to know Yrene and her backstory. Not as good as the Pirate Lord one but it was still highly entertaining. I love these novellas because it's getting me more hyped about the series than I was before (if that makes any sense?!).
I hope there's more of Yrene and I'm wondering what happened to Sam? Does he return? Does she return? Who else do I get to meet!! I honestly forgot what happened in Throne of Glass. So, I guess it's a good thing I'm taking the time to re-read the series :)
