A hero doesn't always recognize they are a hero...Scar and Hana both have their moments of heroism in this beautiful, and yes, wonderfully filthy book, but their emotional growth is simply heroic.

Dang, did I love this book!!! I totally want to leave my review with that simple sentence, but....Scar was all that and every bag of chips in the chip aisle. He has a dark history. It's one that is complicated and best read when the time is right, but he's also the gentlest giants when it comes to Hana who had been abused and for the first time in her life feels safe around him. He's one of Tia's best wounded heros and his story is stunning with twists and so much love.

Hana has her own dark past, but the growth she's had from her sister's book through the end of this one is wonderful. I adored how she helps Pepper, Hutch's niece, and takes her own happiness in to her own hands. She has grown into a woman that deserves to stand by Scar's side.

Their relationship is sweet, and super, super hot, but also has its own complications, so I'm back to saying I loved everything about it!!

Filthy
By: Tia Louise
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, Samantha Brentmoor

Tia Louise has one of my favorite writing styles. She knows how to suck me into a romantic suspense. Scar has been watching over Hana for years. She is significantly younger than him, so his attraction is held tight to his chest and he knows he is not worthy of loving. Hana has a whole different view. She loves her bodyguard and as she gets her nerves up, she take the chance and kisses him. Does it change everything? Not at first, but their relationship changes and the two with their pasts find comfort and passion with each other. But Scar's past could change everything. Secrets, danger and circumstances keep the two on edge, pulled apart and heartbroken. Can Scar keep Hana safe no matter what is going on? I love, love, love this story. It pushes all my buttons. Scar is an amazing character. He doesn't know his own strength, and no I am not talking about how much he can lift. Hana may be young, but she has seen more than her fair share of life, and she too shows her courage. Louise has another winner and I absolutely have fallen for this one.

Teddy Hamilton as Scar delves into the darkness with Scar's past. His inner monologue is powerful, giving us a true depiction of Scar and keeps us on edge but falling for him. Samantha Brentmoor keeps Hana strong yet a little edge of naivete even though Hana is anything but innocent. It's a phenomenal team and a wonderful listen.

I had a hard time following this book. The only thing I got outta it was Hana had a bad past (not trying to spoil anything) & Scar was trying to find the person responsible for it? Maybe? I was pretty confused trying to keep up with this book, there were a lot of characters that came outta no where that I didn’t know how was connected to everyone. I really wanted to enjoy this book, but it was just way to hard to follow.

"We've fought demons and darkness, but we survived. Our scars remain, but they tell us we can heal. We can walk through fire, and together, we'll make it through to the other side."

Edgy, emotional and steamy, Hana and Oskar's (Scar) story brings conclusion to the events begun in Fearless (Blake─Hana's sister─and Hutch's story). Filthy is marketed as a stand-alone but I think you do need to read Fearless otherwise you'll be missing a lot of context.

I liked Hana and Oskar together, I just wanted more buildup and tension integrated into their relationship/story instead of jumping straight into instalove for a more dynamic story arc.

Forbidden is coming December 15 and I'm intrigued what lies ahead.

* Contains material that some readers may find sensitive: abuse (past), violence and struggles with addiction.

This sparked joy

Oh man, it has been a minute since I have read a book from Tia.
This book was the perfect reminder of how much I love her words.

Sexy, suspense, chock full of beautiful moments, and all the feels.

Hana and Oskar swept me away with their blooming romance. Pepper and Carmen sparked joy into the story.

There were some very sensitive subjects in this book, but Mrs. Louise did a magnificent job of telling the sordid details.

Make sure to grab the bonus scene, it's a beaut!

4.5 well deserved stars.

Holy Hotness!! You guys are not ready for the man that is Scar and his intense protective perfection. I just thought Hutch was insanely hot, but Scar seriously puts him in his place. Not only is he hot but the way he adores Hanna is so beautiful, but because of his past he feels he isn’t worthy or her and she deserves better. Hanna is not only attracted to Scar, but she only feels the safest when she is with him, so she is determined to show him they are meant to be. The push and pull of Scar wanting her yet not wanting to hurt her has the tension bleeding off the pages and I loved that even after all the trauma Hana has endured, she is still strong enough to fight for their love and her freedom from the past. I don’t want to give too much away because the mystery from book one continues to this one. I’ll just say Scar is the book boyfriend you not only want, but he is the one you NEED.
