I started this book since it’s a classic and I love classics but I just don’t think I like Steinbeck. It took me a long time to finish this because it just wasn’t a page turner. My stars aren’t lower because it’s not like it was bad. Just not great.

Really well written, this was my first Steinbeck. I found I cared a lot about the characters even though they were pretty much all imperfect. Patterns on patterns of humanity!
