This book made me so extremely happy. I’m completely smitten and I have the biggest pair of heart eyes for Slade.
Swoon-freaking-worthy, Slade was that and so much more. He 100% left me a swoony mess and constantly feeling giddy. He was an absolute gem and charming as heck. I most certainly had a massive crush on Slade and his easygoing nature.
Blakely has seen better days. She has a boss that doesn’t take her seriously even though she’s more than qualified and accomplished, an ex-husband who’s moving on rather quickly, and the fact that she isn’t getting any younger. She feels like her life just isn’t how she envisioned. But a run-in with a complete stranger at a bar might be the excitement she needs.
Blakely and Slade were so good together. I loved how determined Slade was in winning Blakely over. He didn’t care that she was older than him, he cared about how she made him feel. Blakely wasn’t so easily keen to Slade’s obvious advances, but little by little she let some of her guard down and gave him a chance. And boy did they burn hot, so much scorching and intense chemistry. There was no denying their passion—so addicting.
Flirting with 40 was a delicious age-gap romance. I really enjoyed the tables being turned and it being an older woman and a younger man. Blakely and and Slade brought the laughs, flirty banter, and the sizzling romance. An all-around enjoyable read.

"Do whatever it is you want to do so long as it's in pursuit of finding you again."
OMG I adored this book! Slade and Blakely's story was just so perfect, y'all. Blakely's finding herself after divorce at age 39. Slade enters her world fast and furiously and not when she's looking. He's persistent, she's apprehensive, and they just WORK.
Flirting with 40 was super fun, relatable, hot as HELL! I really loved this story, y'all. If you're in the mood for an older woman/younger man romance with low conflict, SO MUCH HEAT, and lots of fun, definitely pick this one up!

I received an arc in exchange of an honest review, all thoughts are my own.
One of my favourite things about K. Bromberg is how versatile her writing style is. She can write seriously emotional, heartbreaking stories and she can also write fun, light hearted romance that will leave you smiling so hard your jaw aches and so much more in between.
Flirting with 40 is definitely one of those fun and lighthearted stories. Don’t get me wrong it definitely has some seriously emotional moments and all the feels, but for the most part it was just a really sweet read and I haven’t stopped grinning yet.
I’d barely gotten through the first couple chapters before I was laughing so hard I got tears in my eyes, the banter and chemistry between Slade and Blakely is seriously off the charts.
I love that the story is told from dual perspective, and that we’re able to get inside both Blakely and Slade’s heads, I wasn’t more interested in one character than the other either, both were interesting, well rounded, complicated human beings and they both felt so real.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and definitely plan on reading it again in the future, I’ll also recommend it to absolutely anyone who will listen!

K. Bromberg knows how to tell a story, she gives her characters strength but also vulnerability that makes you care, and this story is no different.
Blakely is a bitter almost 40 year old divorcée who just wanted to sit at a bar and have a drink. Slade was lucky enough to sit next to her that night. Little did either of them know what the future held for them.
This was a refreshing change of pace, it’s nice to read a book where the main characters aren’t 20 years old and it made it more relatable for me. I was really invested in this story and couldn’t wait to see how it ended.
This story checks all the boxes! Don’t miss out on it!

I fell in love with Slade, I need one in my life. This book gave me all the feelings. Age gap romance done perfectly for me. Blakely is a woman I can relate to, she has her own struggles, and the way Slade helps her is the best way possible. Slade is not free of his own demons, but definitely they both complement each other. This book is more than a romantic age gap story, it will have you thinking about your own struggles, you will laugh and your heart will be squeezed in more way than one. A brilliant story one I'm sure you'll enjoy immensely, the audiobook is a fantastic way to experience this book as well, with great narrators. A 5 star!
It was light and cute; Slade was adorable. But I grew tired of reading the phrase "howl at the moon" repeatedly.
ARC received for an honest review
As a woman who has more than flirted with 40 - heck, I have flirted and waved as I rode right on past 40 - I enjoyed Blakely's tale.
From flirtation to serendipitous meeting, Blakely and Slade are just too cute. I couldn't help but smile as I was reading.
This was like a guide to finding yourself again. From work issues to moving on after divorce, Blakely is dealing with it all.
And Slade is just the guy to help her through it all, even when he is dealing with work complications of his own.
It is a good thing Slade is a cardiac surgeon, because he had my heart beating out of my chest. Palpitations I tell you!
There are some great secondary characters, and I feel that I need to get the story of Blakely's bestie.
And I need to find a Slade of my own.
I look forward to more stories like this from Ms Bromberg.
