This one grabbed me quickly, and compelled me to gorge myself on it. It's driving pace feels like a thriller, and I was really active in trying to guess what the story was up to. At times feeling like a murder mystery and at others a Sophie's World, it deserves 4 stars on my shelf.

I ended up actually really liking this by the end. I do hate the racist word choices though, it’s tiring to correct them in my head. I don’t know if it’s a problem in the original or in other translations though, could be just this old finnish translation being old. Wish they could make new translations of works with this kind of problems
I loved this one. So much so I read it in a few hours. Didn’t entirely understand the ending but the story kept me turning page after page. Definitely recommend it.
an exploration of the power inherently imbued within story-telling & narrativizing, by exploring the telling of Robinson Crueso – with the embellishments added onto the tale of Crueso to make a 'good story', and to avert to narrative gaze away from our protagonist. so cool! so interesting! I do love me some postcolonial reclamations.
