"I know when you need your space. That’s why I got the beard."

I hate this man so very much. Nothing is his fault, he's totally perfect and not an awful person. Fuuuuuck you Joe Goldberg!

Otherwise, writing is good, story kept me hooked, but none of the characters were likeable, and the deaths were mostly 1 to 2 sentences long. I would totally read something else by this author, but probably not anything in this series

I loved the TV show. The book dragged. I read this on and off over the course of a few years because I kept running into boring parts and then taking a break to read other books before coming back to it at a later date. It got kind of interesting toward the end. If you've seen season 1, then you already know everything that happens in this book. Not sure if I'll read the sequels...

I wanted to read a crazy protagonist and I got a crazy protagonist. I found myself rooting for Joe on several occasions even if it was insane to do so. He’s a funny guy and the problems he focuses on are equally funny. It’s a fun book filled with murder, stalking, and romance. It’s different from a lot of books I read but it does fulfill my love of an unreliable narrator because our narrator is just way too crazy. I like how the characters play out and how Joe always looks at what’s wrong with them. Of course there’s a million things wrong with Joe (he’s both pretentious and self satisfying) but man are the people in Beck’s life just as, if not more, messed up as her

I'm gradually adding books I've read in 2021 to give a true reflection of the books I've read since keeping records.  In January 2021, I kick-started my reading journey having put reading on the  back burner whilst bringing up the children only reading when on holiday, having previously being an avid reader. A difficult disturbing read, dark, twisty and uncomfortable. Made me think but not in a good way. Its a  disturbing stalker and obsession based read.  Uncomfortable but well written

The book is very similar to the tv show  but there are some differences. I like watching the tv show more than I like reading the bbut I don’t feel like it’s for me. I wouldn’t read the second book. You don’t have to pay attention the small ideas. You can experience it and actually see what happens instead picturing what’s happening in mind . There’s a lot spicy scenes in this book. Dan is a creepy, stalking character. He has obsession with a women he would not letting anyone get in the way to get close the women. It’s a psychological, narcissistic book.

Book Joe is much creepier and more deranged than series Joe. Book Joe is intense, I had to read it in sections and take breaks. But it was worth it. At the end, I ended up disliking everyone.
