OUCH MY HEART!!! From the way Arnold wrote his author’s note I’m thinking there will be more Fetch Phillips to come, and I sure as heck hope so! All three books have been great and this one was really really fucking special. I love how Fetch is FINALLY learning to build relationships and nurture a bit of a community for himself — and gosh I hope Arnold is working on more Fetch stories. All the revelations at the end of the book! And IS FETCH TRANS WHAT’S THE TEA (probably not but that scene at the end there???) ……. ANYWAY read these books for urban fantasy and detective fun.

A new entry in Arnold's Sunder City series, One Foot in the Fade has some clever moments, some very predictable plotting, and an overall feeling of the author not quite knowing how to deal with the fictional world he's created. There's magic and the mundane, and a lot of violence, and a mostly frustrating ending. Despite the occasional flashes of wit or references, these are too much of a fight for me to keep reading.
