There’s definitely a lot of NASA jargon that was hard to understand but this was a love story, so it wasn’t hard to get past that obstacle. But like every other TJR book out there, this was absolutely beautiful. The emotions were being FELT. The love was being LOVED. The intensity no matter what the subject was always sucked you in. At the very end of the book, I felt tears in my eyes. How beautiful and how unforgettable. Well done TJR once again!!

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the story was full of hope and positivity. I found the main character, Joan, inspirational. The setting was NASA in the early days of the space shuttle program, and the historical details were portrayed vividly and accurately.

Wow, what a book. I've never read TJR before, so I didn't know what to expect going in. Just that she has a few wildly popular books that I haven't gotten around to reading yet. As I love anything to do with space and NASA, I picked this up due to that alone. Not knowing that it was also a love story about a lesbian couple. And ho boy, did this book just manage to hit every single one of my special interests. I loved it so much. The story was so rich, and exciting. I was deeply involved with every single character. They all felt wonderfully human, and I was happy to follow their story alongside Joan. The gradual unfolding of Joan's relationship with Vanessa was an absolute delight to witness. There was one scene where Joan had her aha! moment. And it about killed me. There was pain surrounding their relationship, due to the times. But the focus was so heavily on Joan and Vanessa that you rarely felt that pain. Only the love they shared between them. And that was what I loved about this book most of all. It could have fallen into an angst riddled trap. And there were moments of angst, but the overall message was one of love. And that though there are struggles in life, living that life with someone you love is worth all of the pain.

The only thing I could have done without was all the god stuff. Like it was too much.
