Please don’t talk to me for 3-5 business days - I need time to emotionally recover. This is the best book I’ve read in a long time and I fear for the book I read next as it will have ginormous shoes to fill. This book has it all (friendship, love, space exploration, grief/healing, etc.) and it had me in a chokehold from page one. You might laugh/smile, you’ll almost definitely cry. If you’re looking for a sign to read this book, this is it.

Space, LGBT, Taylor Jenkins-Reid - all my favourite things in books wrapped into one

It’s a little slow, but the relationship between Joan & Vanessa was lovely and the last 10% had me reading with my head in my hands and tears in my eyes

My weird brain fan casting did cast Scarlet Johannsen as both Joan & Vanessa which was interesting

This may be my new favourite book… EVER!

Atmosphere. A Love Story.
Gosh! It IS a love story, not just in the sense there’s romance in here. This is a love story in so many other ways, a love story of the human experience, love for our world, Love for our families and most importantly love for ourselves.

I went into this book fairly blind. I was going to pre-order then decided not to. Then I happened to be in the book store and read the authors note and a little of chapter 1 and that was me. I was hooked. I think not knowing too much is what made it so enjoyable. So essentially this book is about a woman training to be an astronaut for NASA in the 80’s. It’s her experience of that time and everything going on in her life and it’s BEAUTIFUL!
It was brimming with emotion, I was brought to tears multiple times. I was clutching my chest and sighing at the cuteness and happy moments.
In this current climate of the day to day being so hard. You can find yourself asking yourself what is all this for and I found those answers laid out for me in this novel. I NEEDED this book.
