Smashing that 5 stars button. This book catches the heart by jumping between two timelines where you learn about a space disaster and the journey of a group of people accomplishing their goals, forming relationships, and coming into themselves. My heart started swelling right from the start, absolutely devoured this book. Sure I've cried while reading but I have never sobbed quite like I sobbed during the last chapter of this book. Last few sentences actually took my breath away.
I disagree with the critique that this was not enough about space - the level of detail felt like a really special element to the captivating love story and I think any more detail of detail would have battled for attention with the love story(stories!!!!) that were so important here.
She knows!!!!!!

Oof. It really is quite an ending.
I can always count on TJR to write a book I don’t want to put down. There were a few things I wish would’ve been a little different. Mainly that I feel like we missed the “falling in love” time—and this may have just been because of the past and present format. But as it’s a love story, I really wanted more of the falling into romance parts. And with the format being what it was, I found myself itching for the space parts more than the love story, which I’m not sure was the point…
The cliffhangers this book leaves you on are so good though. Gets your heart pumping. I wish there were more references to the first women chosen for space. I felt like there might’ve been some Sally Ride influence here, and it honestly made me miss not having the other first women in space.
Anywayyy I liked it. I cried.
