I see that Taylor Jenkins Reid loves to connect all her books. And I'm not mad about it because I'm kind of obsessed with the world she's created.

Really enjoyed this one even if the mention of a bunch of new names every chapter threw me off - I'm a simple gal, it takes me so long to get into a new book with loads of characters lol

Still, this one had me hooked and I couldn't put it down

TJR has such a talent to make her characters complex and lovable. On the other hand she'll make you hate them just as easily. This is dual timeline and I usually don't enjoy that but this was so we'll thought out that it didn't bother me at all.

I actually gotten goosebumps after finishing the last three lines. I was trying to feel it out if this was a 5 stars book or not because it started a little bit slow for me - not because of the book but just because of me since this wasn't my type of book, but after awhile, when you get to know the characters and their stories, I was just instantly fascinated. I devoured it right after (in 2.5 days to be exact). Although it was not tagged as romance, there was romance here and there, but definitely not the focus - although I really thought the romance would be hitting hard but bruh June and Mick's really made me hope. I'm so glad as well that I read the 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo before reading this one as there were a lot of cameos from it. I love that she wasn't even mentioned in the book, it was pretty ironic. I only later realized that it was THE Mick Riva that was in the said book. Plus points because it's a third person POV and it's not focused on just one or two characters but all characters - yes, the four siblings and even including the side characters. That's one of my favorite things about this book because I saw all point of view of the party-goers.

10/10 would definitely recommend this book to people both non-romance and romance reader. It scared me at first but really, this book taught me multiple things at once. Nina deserves the world.

She did it again! I've gradually been going through TJR's backlist (this is my second to last one). And I was kinda scared going into this book because it's been almost a year since I've read her recent work. With that being said this book didn't disappoint. I was soo happy to see a little cameo from her previous novel, "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo"

Though I wish the book would've mentioned Mick'd brief marriage with Evelyn considering they mentioned some of his other wives.

I love how everything unfolded as you go through the story and how the flashbacks from the past reflect the events of the present. Speaking, I'm not gonna lie I LOVED reading Mick and June's story (all things considered) and it broke my heart to read the events that transpired. Me, personally, I would've never forgiven him for any of that. Mick Riva is literally the scum of the Earth. Nina was the star of this book and it was nice to see her character develop from putting others first to putting herself first. Overall, a great and entertaining story!

I am nervous to read Carrie Soto Is Back though considering Carrie wasn't the most appealing character in Malibu Rising. She was so disrespectful and willing pursued a married man.
