A reasonable wrap up for the series. I'm still a little salty about the fifth book, and this book wasn't good enough to overcome that saltiness. So I liked it, but didn't love it. I could definitely see how this would be a good series for kids, and reading this series now that it's all released has got to be better than reading as they came out and being bitter about book five.

I didn't love this one as much as the previous five, and I think a large part of that is because it was co-wrote. Patterson has a very different voice than Sanderson, which in some ways is ok because it's Bastille writing, not Alcatraz. However, the humor was lacking and there was romance? Which was kind of sweet at first, but I would've preferred there to be way less.
I also felt like the conflict was too conveniently wrapped up. It really reduced the stakes that had been raised with the previous books in the series.
Still, it was a fun conclusion to a series I loved growing up and still hold a lot of fondness for now. I really liked the epilogues from both Bastille and Alcatraz, and honestly think that was the best part of the book!
The audiobook narrator was kinda annoying though...

This was kind of underwhelming. Especially with how amazing the previous four books were. Still, I'm glad the series is now complete
