I admit I'm a bit dissapointed. There was a lot of foreshadowing about the Incarna in the previous books, but not all that much happened with them. I feel like, as an author, hinting at something cool comes with an implied commitment that we'll get to see that something cool properly in books to come. Also, the thing with the Slantviewer's lenses seemed a bit contrived. Dad says I'm taking things too seriously, but in my experience Sanderson also takes magic systems too seriously.
It was a long and hilarious journey and six books later it has come to an end. Wonderful book for a wonderful series. I can’t wait to buy the set as gifts for my friends’ children. Is it necessary for a Sanderson fan to read these? No. But they are certainly a funny brain floss between heavier books and adults will find humor they can enjoy as well.
Everything I wanted for the ending of this series and more!

The teens and I had high hopes for this final installment of the series. I wish Sanderson would've written this alone. Patterson did not continue the established sound and feel of the series that makes it so wonderful, clever, and endearing. It was disappointing. It also seemed like some of the core rules of the series' magic system were inexplicably changed for no good reason. The inconsistency was maddening.
Having already the whole series several times and enjoying it, I would honestly say I was a bit disappointed. A lot of the chapters felt like copy and paste for the first paragraphs. The action seemed to jump from place to place without the world-building and character-building we had seen before. The focus seemed to be on the relationship rather than the action [there is room for both people!]. I was really anticipating this book, and it was meh.
I really love Brandon Sanderson, but this was a big miss for me. I know he is just the co-author here, and this is not typical of his books (well, maybe the Alcatraz books, although this one felt worse than the others). I generally don't care for books with such forced humor. It's not my thing at all, and I just wanted this to be over.
