First of all, the marketing people for this book should be fired. It claims it’s a romance, but it’s not. There is romance in it, but it’s actually a book about loss and grief and healing. I didn’t dislike it, but at times it felt like author just wanted to make me feel sad. Like those tear-jearker movies that aren’t particularly great, but people like the way they make them feel something. This book isn’t particularly well written, it’s actually a bit repetitive at times, and it did make me feel things, but now that I’m done it feels a bit hollow. Like I was tricked into feeling something about nothing.

How would you handle losing the love of your life? Is this what I'd do? Is this how I should handle it? Who knows, but I appreciated that she kept going.

I really like how Josie Silver writes but I didn't find Lydia's story as exciting as everything in [b:One Day in December|38255337|One Day in December|Josie Silver|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1573862622l/38255337._SX50_.jpg|56132017]. The grief process was written really well and that was the best part of the book. I wasn't a fan of the ending and would have preferred literally any other ending for Lydia.

I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, but I couldn't put it down. It was the perfect escape from woes/stresses. The character of Lydia is complex and her struggles and challenges are universal. This is not the most literary text in the world, but it's a very enjoyable story and the characters are extremely likeable. It was sentimental and not cheesy.

Phew! What a journey that book was!
all i wanted to do was to read something light but then i found myself crying on bed at midnight hehe.

I'll be honest and admit that the audiobook is probably affecting my overall interest in the book. The narrator made me really not enjoy Lydia as a character. To add- the story was painfully slow for me without very much even happening. I didn't feel connected to Freddy or Jonah Jones as characters. I think the concept was an interesting one and it is obviously what drew me in but I didn't love how it was executed.

Interesting premise - didn't realize it was going to be so dream-based (so wasn't necessarily an alternate timeline...). Seemed like main character spent natural progression of time greiving, recovering, etc. Thought maybe the ending wrapped up a little too neatly.
