Enjoyed this, started it when I knew I was moving to Mississippi and finished it before I graduated.

What a weird wild and wonderful ride. Good grief. I think I loved it.

I don't even know what to say. There are moments that are so profane and disturbing I'd hesitate to recommend it to a colleague for fear of what they'd think of me. And yet I'd recommend it to those who know me very well as it was also hilarious and relatable and... brilliant? I don't know. Reader beware, I guess. It definitely won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Sometimes you stuble upon a book that captures the top spot of your attention for 2 or 3 days until you finish it wondering "why people don't write more bloody books like this?".
I'm writing an article these days titled "flippant you like" about the less than 10 books I have encountered in my life that falls into this rare category.
The last taxi driver is more than a day in the life of a taxi driver. It is a dissection of a society and a study of how far talented writers could reach and how enjoyable reading could be.

Bringing out the dead in Mississippi. Beautifully written. I assume Nic Cage already bought the rights.

This book is something that I read so quickly and meticulously because it made me feel weird and it was bumming me out and I love a good book that really just feels upset.
You’re peering into the mind of Lou the entire time and everything is bad and everyone is awful and they’re all going about their days and Lou is literally along for a piece of their ride. It really captures that dead end feeling and I just feel for this guy.
It was really good.
