Dexter's Final Cut

I hated this one.

This one is darker and more real. It’s really good but also i disliked Dexter’s personality change, his sudden caring for money, sex and fame made it difficult for me to care about the narrator. The last ten chapters were gripping though, this is the beginning of the end of Dexter.
dark emotional mysterious tense

The premise was again promising, and Lindsay’s vivid imagination is clearly written with wonderful description.

Dexter is becoming “normal” and can’t cope with what life throws at him. This book just shows you that Lindsay has written one too many in this series. I felt this one dragged but is a good lead into the final in the Dexter Universe.

Cody and Astor are becoming annoying sidekicks to the story as well and Debs is foul mouthed whatever.

One more to go and I can say I’ve read the series.

Not my favorite Dexter book. I felt like all the characters were all wrong. Dexter fell in love and became a dope. No longer is he smart, witty, cunning Dexter but really dopey. I miss the guy who is always a few steps ahead rather than 10 behind. Regardless I am loyal to this particular vigilante. Here's hoping for a better book next time.

What a fucking cluster fuck. Slow, tedious and not the Dexter we know from the previous six novels or even the TV series. And WHAT THE FUCK WITH THE ASTOR PLOT LINE??? A murderess in training who suddenly wants to be an actress at 11 and gets picked up by a pedophile who happens to kill Rita ??? Ughhhhhh what was this shit

hate-listening to this series, almost done!

3.5 stars. The ending of this one really made it worth it. Finally, some real changes for Dexter!

Heard on audiobook by the author. He reads well, but he could have cut 50% of this book and it still would have read the same. The plot was lame, and the resolution was not built up enough, making the ending a fizzle instead of the impact the author was going for. Just terrible. I didn’t care for any of the characters and missed the interactions with the side characters.

Great, but not my favourite of the Dexter books. Dexter seems to have lost his way in this book, he just doesn't seem to be on the top of his game, so it was rather disappointing to read him acting this way.
That being said, I will be reading the next book, after that ending, I have to!!!
