*spoilers!*

I did not enjoy the majority of this book. Giving it two stars because I liked the two main characters and found their backstories interesting, but how was this book published in 2023 and didnt come with a list of trigger warnings? I honestly thought a lot of the detail they went into regarding her history with SA, and his history with domestic violence could have been more nuanced, or again a trigger warning could have been issued at the beginning of this book. Look up the trigger warnings before reading this book. They don’t just mention these things, they go into a fair amount of detail.

ALSO: maybe this is just a result of her trauma, but Hannah slut shames so much in this book. Little to NO personal growth other than “oh yay he’s helped me enjoy sex again” happens to make her realize that maybe she shouldn’t call people who enjoy casual sex sluts???? Like Jesus Hannah.

On a less serious note, did this author or NONE of the editors ever play music? No wonder they didn’t really dive deep into Hannah’s studies or performances or rehearsals. Some of the things they say regarding the music she is rehearsing are just incorrect. Not that this is a super serious issue where you’d need to be an EXPERT on music to write about it or enjoy her story, but like come on. I mean I’m not an expert on hockey but let me tell you I don’t read this book for the hockey if you know what I mean.

2 stars because I appreciate the depth given to these characters even if I think the lack of trigger warning is ridiculous given the subject matter and detail in some of these chapters. I did read this on my kindle so maybe in other versions there are trigger warnings?

Idk if I’ll read another book in this series. Who am I kidding I probably will. Thank god these are on kindle unlimited.

i adored this. hannah and garrett have my heart. the spice was amazing, the tenderness and love between these characters! i loved the honesty and communication between them and the way their love story developed. wasn’t a fan of the reason for the 3rd-act break-up but i loved garrett’s unwavering faith in their love to get the answers he needed to get them back together. i loved hannah’s viewpoints about her past and that they both helped each other to heal parts of themselves that hadn’t yet healed from their past traumas but i liked how hannah had already healed a lot and had a good viewpoint from the experiences of her past.
the only thing i didn’t like was that there was no resolution to hannah’s parents situation, it felt unresolved

listen, the writing wasn't good and it was incredibly predictable. that being said, it was cute and im giving an extra star for the hillary duff style locker room barge in.

I love this book so much.
The characters were fun to read about, even though I didn't love all of them equally the whole time. The banter between the two MCs was so fun to read.
The story itself was pretty good. As with most books, there were some problematic parts but it did not subtract too much from the reading experience as a whole.
10/10 would recommend.

I was surprised at the depth of emotion found in this book.   I enjoyed the humor that was sprinkled throughout the book.
Hannah is an awesome protagonist. She's very independent and a strong survivor of rape and the aftermath of standing up for herself. Garret also has had personal issues in his past that round out his character.  The subconscious falling for one another was interesting and realistic.  The antics of the surrounding friends.  And the all-around world-building makes this one of the best books I have read this year.

This was one of the only books that I’ve read so much in one sitting. I love the storyline and there is a perfect amount of drama. I was rooting for this couple since the the very start. This book definitely lives up to its reputation being big on social media and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
