I'm genuinely gutted I waited so long to read this book. I absolutely loved Hannah and Garrett to the point it's not been a full 24hrs since I first started this book.

I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

"The Deal" captivated me with its courage in tackling tough subjects. I appreciated how it delved into complex issues with depth and sensitivity, making it an engaging and thought-provoking read. Highly recommend for those seeking substance in their stories.

I was in a reading slump, and whenever I have one of those I read a different book from Elle Kennedy to get back, because they are pretty bad and dumb. And for some reason theat gets me out of slumps. But overall the characters are blander than vanilla ice cream and the plot is just incredibly dumb. Garett is so annoying, more annoying than Tuck but less annoying than Dean if that helps lol. So full of himself and what not. Hannah is aldo kind of boring and uninteresting. Neuther of them have a personalit, outside of their majors/hobbies. So 2 out of 5 🤷‍♀️

Read this book for book club. Man this threw nearly every trope at me that I hate. Check trigger warning folks.

Premise: A music student and a hockey player team up to ensure he passes a tough class and she can land a date with her crush.

Issues: Holy lack of respect Batman! Look I get the whole plot is to get these two characters together but how many times did Hannah say no to tutoring Garrett?? And how many times did he not leave her alone? YUCK. Instant ick for me. I didn’t like him from that point on. Also for saying things like “well I’m a guy” multiple times. Yuck.

The abuse on both sides for the characters was intense. There’s a lot of physical abuse described and alluded to here. Be warned.

I’ve read a lot of hockey romances recently but this one gave me the ick the most.
