Book 3 of the series; the Grace children meet their great-aunt Lucinda and go looking for her father, Arthur Spiderwick, who disappeared, apparently after going to meet with elves in the wilderness. Along the way they met a Phooka, too . . .

I am so happy that she has been enjoying reading the Spiderwick Chronicles with me. For being 3 and a half, she pays a lot more attention than I thought she would!

As is always the problem when following the story of a group of children, you tend to cringe at the thought process sometimes, then are amazed at it other times.

The story continues, and you finally get to meet Great Aunt Lucinda! The siblings debate what they should do with the guide - should they keep it for themselves or destroy it once and for all? Many more complications for the Grace children are introduced in this book, but who knows what they will decide to do? I'll have to read the next book (number 4) to find out what happens.

The Grace children meet Lucinda, an old family memeber, to help them with the creatures, which include trolls, golbins, and griffins.

Avery is loving these books!
