Being a huge fan of this author I couldn’t wait to read his latest book, and I was not disappointed.
Jack Morgan finds himself in deep water at the highest possible level, fighting for both his life and business. This is a fast paced read which kept me gripped from start to finish. Not only is Jack heavily involved, but other parts of his Private agency feature in this story.
Highly recommended for fans of the author as well as fans of stories featuring twists and turns throughout.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for providing a copy.

Solid choice if you’re looking for a spy thriller with the typical action and drama. Easy read.
This was an ARC via NetGalley in return for an unbiased review. I've read a few of the Private series now, and as each one's set in a different city, you have to quickly get to know the characters (in the local office). If I'm honest, this one did detour a bit into "suspend all belief" territory - lots of fights where your eyes glaze over a bit, and a few utterly unbelievable moments (like Jack breaking the zip tie around his hands, or how easily they seemingly break into a place). But overall, a decent storyline underneath it, if you can look past the "seriously?!" of some bits.

A fast-paced read (or listen) with lots of nail-biting moments. Jack Morgan's search for the person behind the assassination of a good friend leads him to Moscow. Each piece of evidence uncovered makes Jack wonder who his friend really was. As always, Jack doesn't let danger stop him from finding the truth. As the investigation continues, Jack's reputation takes hit after hit. If he makes it out of Russia alive, will Private survive?
I listened to the audio book. The narrator had a confising habit of switching his accent midsentence. Generally he spoke in a non-specific American accent. Other accents (all for the narrator) included Bronx, English, and Australian. It was distracting when he suddenly sounded Australian during a very patriotic scene.
I recommend to anyone likes political thrillers, spy thrillers, or books in the PI trope.
My content warnings- violence (although not detailed in the description), blood, guns, car crashes, cursing, drinking. Contains no set scenes.

My hit and miss series - 3*
I do adore the Private series because I adore Jack Morgan and I have since [b:Private|7134202|Private (Private, #1)|James Patterson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388247223l/7134202._SY75_.jpg|7397180] - which will always be my greatest accidental book.
I only rated it 3* because the plot was okay and did get a bit exciting but I didn't really the head of Moscow so couldn't get behind.

My Thoughts
"Private Moscow" by James Patterson and Adam Hamdy is an exhilarating thrill ride from beginning to end. Secrets unravel, bullets fly, and danger lurks at every turn in this adrenaline-fueled chase through the dark underbelly of Russia. The authors skillfully keep the reader on their toes with non-stop action, whether it's a high-stakes chase in New York, a gunfight on the streets of Moscow, or a tense standoff between armed federal agencies. The pace is relentless, and the suspenseful twists and turns ensure that there's never a dull moment.
The novel's fast pace is enhanced by the clever use of short chapters, which heightens the suspense and keeps readers hooked. The story seamlessly weaves together two parallel mystery plot lines, gradually revealing their intricate and fascinating connection. The Russian setting adds an extra layer of intrigue, and the Russian protagonists, Dinara and Leonid, bring a dynamic and compelling dynamic to the narrative.
As a newcomer to the Private series, I had no trouble immersing myself in the world created by Patterson and understanding the Private organization and its main characters. While familiarity with the series might enhance the reading experience, it is by no means necessary, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book without prior knowledge.
Mystery and intrigue saturate the pages of this book with suspense and tension expertly building throughout. The contrasting settings, from the bustling Wall Street to the chilling Russian winter, as well as the exploration of U.S. politics and the social landscape of Russia, create a rich and atmospheric backdrop that adds depth to the story.
The ending of the book delivers a satisfying conclusion, even if it stretches plausibility to its limits. I appreciated the intense standoff that unfolds, recognizing that while it may not reflect reality, it provides a thrilling and engaging climax.
Recommendation
"Private Moscow" is a heart-pounding espionage thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. With its relentless action, surprising twists, and a well-crafted blend of mystery and intrigue, James Patterson and Adam Hamdy deliver a gripping read that I highly recommend. “Private Moscow” should be near the top of the must-read list for all adrenaline junkies and thriller enthusiasts.
